Isaiah 44:16-17
He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire: And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god. Whomever or whatever gets what is left of our life, is not our GOD! What or Who is the First resort or primary receiver or preeminent person of affection or relationship IS a god or idol in the life. check up: Time, money, energy, talent, fellowships, ? Is it me first? Then these, then HIM? Is it these first, then me, then HIM? Is it as it should be, if it is THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD, Him first, the He will balance all of these and thems! MJT

PREACHING IN THE WILDERNESS
PREPARING THE WAY April- June 2014 Evangelist Dr. Michael J Thurmond 6/18/2014 Greetings to all, God is good all the time. It is so exciting to be His personal servant. I am very honoured to be a co-laborer with you and the Blessed Spirit in spreading the Gospel and preaching the Word of the Lord across this great country and around the world. Christine and I are so blessed as we look unto the lord to continue to guide and provide for our lives and ministry. With all our heart, we thank you for your friendship, prayers, and support. The missions trip to the Philippines was another glorious experience. God provided the finances, the places to preach, safety as I travelled, a special local church to watch over me (Bible Believers Baptist in Hensonville, Angeles City, Pastor Noel Sinamban. He and his folks helped with transportation, hotel ,food and friendship), and souls with open hearts to repent and receive the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. It was a joy to lead souls to the Lord both in churches, youth camps, on the street, and in their homes. I preached 19 times in the 20 days I was there, not counting the streets, the home Bible studies, the prayer times, etc. There were so many wonderful preachers- missionaries, pastors and their families and people of local churches that I met. I never felt so loved by so many. I was encouraged by the great youth Camp near Baguio. The young people enthusiastically responded to the Word at every service in spite of the tremendous heat, where many had heat exhaustion, also. I held services for Pastors Pascual in Tarloc City, Madriaga in Tarloc Province, Razon in Dap Dap, Punsalon in Manilla, Sanchez in Baguio, Sinamban in Angeles, plus I preached with several good preachers-missionaries while there. I am more burdened than ever for the Pastors, preachers, and local churches and their bible Institutes in the Philippines and India,. Please pray our finances and support levels will increase so that I may continue getting to these people for their encouragement. I was also privileged to preach in the 14thannual Old-fashioned Baptist camp meeting in Lipa City, hosted by Missionary Robert Patenaude and the Pastor of “ A People for His Name Baptist Church”, Bro. Aplaon. Thank you Lord! I spent the Month of May on the west coast, in Oregon and Washington states. I was able to preach in a good Bible conference with two great preachers from Cincinnatti, OH, Bro. Jim Love and Pastor James Love while in St. Helens, OR with Pastor Goodman; Church services with Pastor Dudley at Camas Baptist in Vancouver, WA; Pastor Clarkson at Amazing Grace Baptist in Vancouver, WA; Pastor Zike at Old Paths Baptist in Tualatin, OR; Pastor Smith at Mountain View Baptist in Kelso, WA; and a great revival along with Pastor Steve Beatty from Garrettsville, OH for Pastor James Beatty at Town Center Baptist, Happy Valley, OR. In June, The Lord allowed me to preach again in the annual Preachers Retreat at Community Baptist at Oliver Springs, TN for Pastor Combs. It is always such a sweet fellowship with many other preachers. I also preached at Solway Baptist in Knoxville, TN for Pastor Buchanan. I preached for our home and sending church, Crossroads Baptist and Pastor Jerry Harris upon my return. I will be in China grove, NC and the Corriher Heights Baptist and Pastor Chris Pethel on the 29th before heading to Moyock, NC and the Campmeeting with Jeremai Byrd, and the Old path Baptist folks June 30 through July 4th. I will be preaching Sunday morning at Old Paths, and afternoon at Cava Baptist, then evening at Faith Baptist in Elizabeth City and pastor Bryan Pease. I will be driving home on 7th. Please pray for God to bring fruitfulness and faithfulness in the hearers. Oh, how faithful our lord is to us as we do His will in this world. He has raised up those with a heart for us to send special help, special offerings, special prayers, special gifts, special comfort and special opportunities. I am still able to keep going because of precious friends that gave us a car and supported us for years, but are no longer able. I bow my head in thanksgiving to God. I say a prayer of appreciation to God for the Local churches that have sacrificed to continue supporting us though 13 years of Evangelism. The Lord increase HIS blessing upon each giver and supporter. Bless each Pastor, Lord with relief from their burdens of life for their interest in this ministry. God Bless you, from Evangelist Michael and Sister Christine Thurmond Ps. 26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
I want to thank again each of you that prayed for my wife and I or sent support for our ministry. May God Bless you a hundred fold for your investment in our lives. You will be rewarded for those who received the Lord Jesus as their Saviour and for those Christians and churches that have been encouraged because I was able to go out and preach the Word of God. March was spent in the Philippines. Boy was it hot, yet the Pastors, churches, and people who attended our meetings were so attentive and genuine. So many took special care of me and my travel and transportation needs and supplied lodging or helped on hotel bills. A special thanks to Pastor Sinamban and his people for the second mile sacrifices. I especially thank God for the powerful youth conference. The young people sure gave me their love and fellowship. I say another word of thanks to the pastors and churches of Oregon and Washington who enabled me to preach in Bible Conferences, Revivals, preacher's, and men's meeting for over three weeks. I was so well received and altars were filled. I am humbled by the special care of Town Center Baptist and Pastor Beatty for supplying my apartment and car for hundreds of miles. Many chipped in to make sure my stay was comfortable. The local churches each made sure my expenses were covered for the time I was there. One last word of thanks to Dear friends who have sacrificed to keep me on the road and provided me with a nice car that I put over 100,000 miles on be fore I sold it to get another car. Jesus will supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory! I am glad to tell them that every message I preach will fall upon your account at the judgment seat. Another Couple have loved and prayed for me and have sent many times to keep me on the road. My trucker for Jesus! God Bless you a hundred times! 1 Cor. 8:4-8 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, † (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. 1 Cor. 10:19-23 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot † drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot † be partakers of the Lord‘s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke † the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than † he? All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. There are powers and personalities behind every idle and what it requires of its patron. idles are substitutes for reality. From the golden calf that Aaron made for The LORD, to the idle of coveting things more than the God that gives us life. Whether you allow things, people, pets, sports, alcohol, drugs, pleasures or anything to come before God, you get more than just meets the eye or that can be felt. You get the claws of the unclean spirits upon your soul-life. Beware of the contaminations of idolatry. The unseen is far more damaging than the symbol. MJT Phil.4:10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care † of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
Though it had been @9 years since we were able to be with you and the church in Angeles, I received such blessings that departing this and other churches was very hard but full of good memories. Thank you Pastor Noel and Church folks. I send love to you all!! Bro. Mike Isaiah 61:1-4
The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, † to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. oh, what a privilege to have been placed in a continued ministry of Christy way of a personal Call. my life's work has taken me around the world and allowed me to meet some very precious friends both in America and abroad. Heaven will be filled with the best of everything and every one. All these here and in Heaven too. Mark 3:14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, The greatest blessing of this ministry is the call to spend my life not just representing Him and preaching His Message, but to be WITH HIM. 1Cor.3:9.. For we are labourers together with God: never forget while working for God we are working with Him. Don't miss Him in your work or resting or study or preaching. Always keep AWARE of His presence and His Voice in the Scriptures. What a great Mom and Dad I still have in this world. my Dad and I were able to make necessary repairs to my house and finish the exterior of my enclosed porch in 2 days. I cut the grass and am now packed and ready to fly to Portland, OR.
my wife and I were able to spend some time with our precious grand daughter, son and daughter in law at the Louisville zoo. After 3 great weeks in the Philippines and before I leave for 3 weeks in the great Northwest.
Some of my living mentors and friends; Evangelist Bob Hamblen, Pastor Billy Goolesby, Bro. A. C. Durham, Evangelist Bill Shoffner.
I sure miss my early Pastors, B.M. Page, Wilbur Hurt, blessed Evangelist Fred Vaught and my Bible Teacher Dr. Bruce Lackey. I am what I am by His grace and the investment of these and many others. All our efforts are to Glorify the Savior Who redeemed us to Himself by His own Blood. By His grace I will be doing meetings in Mississippi at the Happiness Hill and Solid Rock homes with Dr. Jack High March 16-21 and in Revival with the folks at Herbert Baptist Mar. 23-26 and Pastor Justin Chaney.
